Shiina Ringo releases a live DVD in March

Shiina Ringo’s 10th anniversary commemoration campaign ends with another live DVD release in March, reports Bounce.com. The Bounce article mentions Shiina’s 7 year-old son serves as narrator.

No kidding. In her hometown no less. So is this is a recent concert from her 10th anniversary project, or some kind of reissue along the lines of her secret Zazen Extasy live? Although I miss the old Ringo, but I believe that in a live context is where she truly shines. Her performances on the “Just Can’t Help It” DVD were spectacular.

This was shot a few weeks ago, and by all accounts it was on par with Electric Mole and Just Can’t Help It. Saitou Neko is a large part of the concert as well, and the rest of the band is all old-school from her solo albums.

  • Sam says:

Actually, correction: The shows were this past week.

So Awesome… Thanks man. Holy shit, on par with EM and Just Can’t Help It? Saito Neko and her old school band members? The dudes from Gekokujyou Extasy? Damn, purchase confirmed I say.

  • Sam says:

It wasn’t the Gyakutai Glikogen guys, to be exact it was:
    bass: Seiji Kameda
drums: Noriyasu Kawamura (drummer for most of Muzai Moratorium)
guitar: Yukio Nagoshi (some guitar on Shouso Strip)
    orchestra: Saito Neko
Plus sequencing by Nakamura Nobuhiko, who did all of the programming on SS.
