Am I the only one thinking that Bonnie has definetly lost her mind? Her last efforts were so bland, specially her latest single (worth only for the remix of A Perfect Sky), and now this freaking Christmas album?!
I wonder what’s going to be the next bizarre act by her…

I didn’t find her last two albums very memorable, but I have to admire the gumption of putting out a Christmas album for an audience that doesn’t really celebrate the holiday all that much. Is Christmas a big deal in Japan? I hear people celebrate it, but I don’t get the impression it’s the same kind of clusterfuck as it is in the US.
Thinking Out Loud was released in Sweden, so maybe she’s positioning a Christmas EP for the same kind of international release?
I actually kind of like the new single. It’s harder than anything I remember her doing in recent memory, but that coupling single is a real Kylie Minogue rip-off.

A bit of a necropost, but seriously, “CHAIN” is one of the better songs she’s released recently. It’s got some of her soul sistah thing going on, something we haven’t really seen since BURNING CHICKEN started co-producing with her. If anything, there’s an acoustic version of the song on the mini-album – and that’s what I really want the woman to do now, to just sing to a piano or guitar. Her best material’s her simplest and most acoustic – I think her sound’s too smart for her nowadays.
